The Wireless LAN
Administration course provides the networking professional a complete foundation of
knowledge for entering into or taking advancing in the wireless networking industry. From
basic RF theory to link budget math, including topics from troubleshooting to performing a
site survey, this course delivers hands on training that benefits the novice as well as
the experienced network professional.
Course Topics: - The Wireless LAN Administration course covers such topics as: - Radio
Frequency (RF) Spread Spectrum Technologies - Hardware Installation Antennas and
Accessories - 802.11 Network Arch. FCC rules - Access Points Joining a Wireless LAN -
Physical & MAC Layers Wireless LAN Security - Site Surveying And Much, Much More.
Duration The Wireless LAN administration course consists of 40 hours, incorporating both
lecture and hands-on labs. This course will also be offered on Saturdays for those
individuals who have challenges scheduling courses during the week.. Prerequisites: Prior
to enrolling in the course, it is recommended that all students have at least a basic
knowledge of networking (as exhibited in Network +, CNA, CCNA or MCP)

Certified Wireless Security Professional
Wireless LAN
Security,the preparation course for the CWSP™ certification, teaches students the
necessary skills for implementing and managing wireless security in the enterprise by
creating layer2 and layer3 hardware and software solutions with tools from industry
leading manufacturers.
Students who complete the course should acquire the necessary skills for implementing
and managing wireless security in the enterprise by creating layer2 and layer3 hardware
and software solutions with tools from the following industry leading manufacturers.
CWSP Training & Certification covers the following topics: · Wireless LAN
Intrusion · Wireless LAN Security Policy · Wireless LAN Security Solutions
Prerequisites: It is recommended that all students earn either the Security Certified
Network Professional (SCNP) or CompTIA Security+ certification or have at least 12 months
experience in a network security related field prior to enrolling in the course. Target
Audience:
Networking professionals who wish to gain critical skills in wireless networking
security, including how hackers attack networks and the means for preventing them from
doing so. With the burgeoning growth of wireless LAN installations, all IT professionals
must become knowledgeable about security, and wireless security in particular.
Program Duration:
The Wireless LAN Security course is 40 hours of instructor-led study, incorporating
both lecture and hands-on labs. The lab exercises consume more than 80% of the class time,
providing thorough hands-on training for all attendees. The class is delivered over a
5-day period. In response to your numerous requests we have decided to offer CWSP on
Saturdays, starting in July, 2003.
